Draped artwork

The draped works celebrate the natural character of leather and suede, bringing a warm, tactile presence to a space. Created from these authentic materials, the works engage several senses. They are soft and warm to the touch, carry the natural scent of the material, and bring a serene, authentic quality to a space.

I began creating the draped works in 2017, exploring how these beautiful materials can be shaped into an almost sculptural expression. The folds create an interplay of shifting shadows and depth that changes throughout the day as light moves across the surface.

Each element is created entirely by hand and carefully considered. With a background in graphic design, I bring a strong sense of composition and balance to the process, creating works that combine contrast and movement with a sense of calm and visual harmony.

How to commission a Draped artwork

Each Draped artwork is made to commission and created specifically for your space.

Together we define the dimensions, material, colour and overall composition. The work is then handcrafted in either leather or suede, with the folds and draping developed individually for each piece.

The natural character of the material becomes an integral part of the work, making every Draped piece unique.

Draped is created in two distinct forms:

Draped Largo
Flowing folds contained within the frame.

Draped Grave
Folds extending beyond the frame, creating
a deeper, more sculptural presence.

Material & Colour

Draped is created in either leather or suede.

Leather has a distinctive, raw expression and a smooth surface.

Suede has a soft, dusty expression, with the nap creating subtle shifts
in colour.

Each material responds differently to light, allowing the folds and relief
to shift throughout the day. Specific colours and tones can be discussed as part of the commission.
