Behind Atelier Nué is Danish designer and artist based in Aarhus, Denmark - Benedicte Maria

My work sits in a hybrid between design, art and fashion. I work with materials that are traditionally close to the body — leather, wool and textiles — exploring how they can move from the body into space.

My pieces exist between textile, sculpture and surface, shaped through stitching, layering and material tension.

I work slowly and hands-on, focusing on tactility, weight and softness. The materials are carefully chosen for their natural qualities and how they age over time.

At the core of my work is a fascination with materiality — how something soft can hold form, and how surfaces can carry both calm and presence.

All works are designed and made by me in my atelier in Aarhus, and are sold through galleries, retailers and private clients.
